Quality koto blade that remains unaltered, signed Kunitsugu, two kanji on the nakago. The Kuni is impressively large very typical of 1st and 2nd generation Kunitsugu. We are accustom to seeing mainstream schools and so it is quite refreshing to see work of Kii province, we still see influence of Yamato characteristics in the hada, however the hamon on this blade is more active than we are typically used to seeing from Yamato works. The handachi style koshirae is elegant, beautifully designed saya and stunning rayskin on the tsuka, the butterfly menuki are of good quality along with the gold inlayed iron tsuba. The shirasaya that houses the blade is brand new and of good quality.
