Kunisada Katana (SOLD)

Superb Katana from the great Izumi no Kami Fujiwara Kunisada with NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon

SKU: NH0183 Category:
Description

Wonderful work by the fist Generation Kunisada. He was one of the early Edo pioneers who not only created his own masterpieces but also fostered a son called Inoue Shinkai who inherited and further developed his skills to be one of the best Shinto smiths. Shodai Kunisada was ranked as O-Wazamono in sharpness, a title that was reserved for very few smiths, it translates as Great Sharpness. The blade has been awarded Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK, translating extraordinarily worthy of preservation. Blade is slightly suriage with original Mei, in high condition and polish.
Koshirae is equally stunning and the Tsuba is also accompanied with certification. If you are in search of a very high quality piece by a top quality smith I highly recommend this set.
